Madison De La Garza, Demi Lovato’s Sister, Is Pregnant and Expecting First Baby with Boyfriend Ryan Mitchell

Demi Lovato has a lot to celebrate!

Madison De La Garza, the pop singer’s youngest sister, announced on Thursday, Sept. 5 that she’s pregnant with her first baby, due next month.

Her happy news was shared on social media, with a photo of the 22-year-old mom-to-be holding her baby bump while posing with boyfriend, actor Ryan Mitchell, 27.

The post also included other pictures of the Desperate Housewives alumni celebrating alongside her friends and family, including one alongside sisters Demi, 32, Dallas Lovato, 36, and their mom Dianna De La Garza, 62.

“Oh Ryan, how I love you,” Madison captioned the photo. “Thank you for making all of my dreams come true. ♥️ Baby Mitchell 10.24.” Madison De La Garza

In the comments section, Madison was showered with love, including one sweet comment from Demi. “I love you and this baby so much already!!” Demi wrote — adding, “Congratulations baby girl. I love you so much,” on their Instagram Stories.

“Woohoooo,” Dianna said in her own remark. “I’m gonna be a REAL GRANDMA D NOW!!!! Love youuuuu!! ❤️❤️❤️.”

Madison’s cousin, Cruel Summer star Braeden De La Garza, penned his own support. “My uncle training will finally pay off,” he wrote, Dianna commenting with laughing emojis. Madison De La Garza

Meanwhile, Demi isn’t just preparing to be an aunt, they’re getting ready to walk down the aisle, too.

The “Confident” singer (who uses she/they pronouns) is engaged to fellow musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes. He popped the question in December 2023 with a bespoke pear-shape diamond solitaire engagement ring made by N.Y.C. jewelry boutique Material Good, and again in a playful cooking video Demi uploaded in late August.

That same month, Jutes penned a heartfelt tribute to Demi for her 32nd birthday, calling her “my whole world.”

You deserve nothing but happiness and love because that’s what you give to everyone you meet,” he wrote, before expressing his excitement for their future nuptials. “Ps can’t wait to marry ur fine ass.” Madison De La Garza

The “Heart Attack” singer’s half-sister Madison De La Garza, who played Juanita Solis on Desperate Housewives, shared that she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Ryan Mitchell.

“Oh ryan, how I love you,” the 22-year-old wrote in a Sept. 5 Instagram post. “Thank you for making all of my dreams come true. Baby mitchell 10.24.”

In the post, Demi is featured in one slide, along with their mother Dianna De La Garza and sister Dallas Lovato, 36, holding her sister’s baby bump. Elsewhere in the post, Madison—whose dad is Demi’s stepfather Eddie De La Garza—poses with her boyfriend, wearing a yellow sundress and cradling her belly.

Naturally, the Bad Teacher alum received lots of love from her family and fans on the special announcement.

Madison’s pregnancy news comes just months after she debuted her relationship online, sharing a selfie with Ryan in June, captioning it, “My whole world.”

Meanwhile, Demi is also busy taking her relationship with Jutes to the next level, as the duo announced their engagement in December. And the Camp Rock alum is more than confident that Jutes is her happily ever after.

“I couldn’t be more in love with your gorgeous, funny, sexy, talented self,” Demi wrote in a birthday tribute to her fiancé last March. “I’ve waited my whole life to find you and I can’t wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together. You’re a literal dream come true and I’m so grateful to call you mine.”

Indeed, Demi—who was previously engaged to actor Max Ehrich—detailed how the couple fell in love through writing music shortly before confirming their engagement.

“We met in the studio and he actually helped cowrite one of my singles, ‘Substance,’ and a few songs off my last album,” she said on the The Jennifer Hudson Show in December, referring to 2022’s Holy Fvck. “We worked really well together and we’re also just super in love. It’s amazing to find someone that you just laugh with and that you get to make music with. It’s just so special.”

Madison De La Garza is reflecting on her time as a child star on Desperate Housewives and how cyberbullying from viewers led to her “developing an eating disorder at a very young age.”

The actress — who was as young as 6 years old when she portrayed Juanita Solis, the daughter to Eva Longoria‘s Gabrielle “Gaby” Solis, on the ABC series — appeared on the most recent episode of Elizabeth Vargas’ Heart of the Matter podcast to talk about her journey to sobriety. During the 45-minute episode, De La Garza opened up about her personal drug use and experiences with addiction, as well as the decision to turn to her sister Demi Lovato after De La Garza sought treatment. Toward the end of the discussion, the Bad Teacher actress touched on her time starring on Desperate Housewives with Vargas, recalling how she experienced cyberbullying about her weight under the guise of concern for her health.

“The reactions that I got to my character on Desperate Housewives, I mean, it was just shocking. A lot of people came at it in a way that they were quote-unquote ‘concerned for my health,’” she said. “I personally believe that that’s just not true. That it was a cover-up so that they could just judge a 6-year-old.”

De La Garza went on to reveal that although her parents limited her online activity, she would frequently sneak on a computer and while visiting sites like TMZ, teen gossip site OceanUp and YouTube, would “spend a crazy amount of time reading these comments” that spoke about her in an “atrocious” way.

“They said things like they wanted me to die because of what I looked [like]. It was just horrible, like, ‘ugly fat cow,’ and ‘I hope you get cancer and die because you’re so fat.’ Just horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible things and this was when I was 6, 7, 8 years old,” she recalled. “Reading comments like that definitely affected my mental health and ultimately played into me developing an eating disorder at a very young age.”

The Desperate Housewives actress said that her family had no idea that “I was seeing these things and I was reading these things” or that she had begun “trying to starve myself” in response — something she remembers doing as early as 7 years old.

When Vargas asked about whether the actress told any of the Desperate Housewives creative team or if they were aware of the online harassment, she noted that they all had to be at least somewhat in the know as they had written her weight and looks into the show as part of Longoria’s character’s plotline.
